Welcome to Rutherglen Victoria - Victorias Premier Wine Region

Clear blue skies in Rutherglen...
We are in the midst of another perfect Autumn here in Rutherglen, with clear, mild days and crisp nights that have you almost thinking about the open fire. Vintage 2013 is all but over with just a few small parcels of grapes (Muscat & Topaque) remaining to be picked. The leaves on the vines are slowly giving in to the season, with bright green leaves fading to amber and burgundy, and creating a spectacular backdrop for the region.
On the event front we are eagerly aniticipating the start of the High Country Harvest in May; a region wide festival celebrating the distinctive wines, incredible prodcue and emerging boutique breweries of the north east. Ever keen for a party, the Rutherglen wineries, restaurants and farmgate producers are all getting involved and you can view all event detail at www.highcountryharvest.com.au.
One particular highlight is 'The Sweet Cycle' - a fusion of great food, wine, cycling (of course!) and vintage fashion. The event sees participants set off on a gentle 25km loop, interspersed with three unforgettable epicurean experiences. We also encourage attendees to glam it up Downton Abbey style and come along sporting a little vintage fashion - think tweed jackets, plaid skirts, stetson caps and the like. Antique, vintage and retro bikes are also encouraged to complete the look! Places are limited, please see out events section for more detail.
We are also thrilled to announce that the Winery Walkabout brochure is now available. Please download directly from our website, or phone Freecall 1800 622871 to have one posted out to you.
We look forward to welcoming you to Rutherglen, Wahgunyah and surrounds soon.

Featured Rutherglen Winery
Jones Winery & Vineyard was established in 1860 and stands testament to a rich wine making tradition. Since 1927 the winery has been owned and operated by the Jones family. Entire blocks of old vines have been preserved making the winery one of very few in Australia to produce wine from vines planted more than 100 years ago. Today Jones Winery & Vineyard is jointly operated by winemaker Mandy Jones and her brother Arthur Jones. More >>
