Welcome to Rutherglen Victoria - Victorias Premier Wine Region

An Autumn Escape in Rutherglen

Autumn is quite simply the best time of year to visit our region. Vintage begins to wind down, and you will find many weary, but very happy winemakers only too happy to discuss the fruits of their labour. Warm, sun-filled autumn days provide the perfect backdrop for touring the regions Cellar Doors, long lazy lunches or simple picnics amongst the vines.

Another great thing about Autumn in Rutherglen is that the region is awash with exciting festivals and events. Looking ahead to May we have a first for the region, with the inaugural High Country Harvest taking place across the entire north east. Ten days of food, wine and frivolity including 'The Sweet Cycle', an exciting fusion of cycling, food, wine and vintage fashion in Rutherglen.

Just a little further over the horizon we have the legendary Winery Walkabout to look forward to. Three epic days of wine, food, music, dinners, more wine and most of all fun! The 2012 event brochure has now been released and you can start your Winery Walkabout planning here

Jones Winery & Vineyard

Jones Winery & Vineyard

Jones Winery & Vineyard was established in 1860 and stands testament to a rich wine making tradition. Since 1927 the winery has been owned and operated by the Jones family. Entire blocks of old vines have been preserved making the winery one of very few in Australia to produce wine from vines planted more than 100 years ago.

Today Jones Winery & Vineyard is jointly operated by winemaker Mandy Jones and her brother Arthur Jones.
